About the Opportunity

Are you tired of being paid on a straight commission basis and waiting ages for your next deal to close? Would you like the opportunity to be in the buyer's seat and earn a competitive salary, significant bonus opportunities and many other benefits?  We are seeking an experienced real estate professional with a proven track record of success to join our team as Real Estate Acquisitions Manager and help drive our real estate acquisition program. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivator with an outgoing personality who enjoys hard work and has a genuine passion for pets and the real estate industry.  

The Real Estate Acquisitions Manager will report to our Vice President of Real Estate.  This is an exempt position.  The works hours will vary based upon business volume and demand but will exceed 40 hours per week and may include weekend and holiday availability, as necessary.

Real Estate Acquisitions Manager Duties and Responsibilities

In addition to other duties that may be assigned from time to time, the duties and responsibilities for this position will include:

  • Performing market research and site visits in targeted markets to determine optimum locations for our new resorts consistent with our strategic growth plan.
  • Engaging commercial real estate brokers in targeted trade areas to identify, evaluate and purchase viable sites for development of new resorts.
  • Working with in-house counsel to prepare and execute real estate acquisition documents, including letters of intent and purchase contracts.
  • Engaging and working with engineering consultants and Pet Paradise development team members to ensure conformance to Pet Paradise development requirements.
  • Coordinating and facilitating the filing of applications for rezonings, variances, special use permits and other required permits and approvals.  
  • Preparing presentations and participating in meetings with city councils, county commissions, zoning boards and other local, county and state governing bodies and agencies regarding rezonings, variances, special use permits and other required permits and approvals.

Position Qualifications and Requirements

The following are the general qualifications and requirements for this position:

  • A four-year degree in general business or real estate from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered.
  • Three to 5 years' experience as a commercial real estate sales associate or other relevant work experience. Experience preferred in the following areas:
    • Retail, general commercial and/or raw land purchase and sale transactions
    • Real estate market research and site selection
    • Real estate development
    • Preparation and interpretation of real estate purchase letters of intent and contracts
  • The ability and willingness to travel both inside and outside of the State of Florida (it is anticipated that the approximately 25% of the time in the position will be spent travelling or working outside of the office).
  • An active commercial real estate sales license is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
