Veterinary and Resort Receptionist
Position: Receptionist

Ideal Candidate

  • Impresses our pet parents or clients with a warm upbeat personality
  • Handles the pressure of a high volume, active or intense (we used the word high twice)
    environment with resort and veterinary services
  • Creates a positive environment for guests, pets and your team
  • Follows operational procedures
  • Enjoys being compassionate, thorough and efficient at check-in, check-out and
    communication
  • Accurately and thoroughly completes patient medical history and record review
  • Perform outbound appointment calls and receive incoming client calls
  • Devoted to the philosophy of wellness and preventive care to ensure pet health
  • Ability to maintain, communicate and follow through with guests' requests
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
  • Six months of vet services experience

Job Summary
The Receptionist is a critical link to guest satisfaction as you drive the customer's first and last
impression of Pet Paradise. Responsibilities include welcoming, processing arrivals and checkout,
anticipating guest needs and meeting or exceeding those expectations , responding to and
resolving inquires and complaints, and coordinating with other departments (or services) to
ensure guests feel well-cared for and valued. This person should be very comfortable
interacting with customers in a highly professional manner regarding all services offered within the resort.

Requirements
Education
* High school diploma or GED


Skills and Experience (Essential)
* At least 18 years of age
* Basic computer skills
* Read and communicate effectively
* Exhibits superb interpersonal skills
* Ability to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when resolving guest
complaints
* Veterinary reception experience preferred

Job Duties
* Maintain a personal demeanor that is friendly, cheerful and courteous at all times
* Greet guests and pets by name
* Ensure that all clients and pets feel welcomed to Pet Paradise
* Check-in pets and make detailed notes regarding medical or care and feeding instructions
* Follow check-out processes and forward book the next veterinary appointment
* Ensure guest satisfaction by responding to guest inquiries with accurate information and a
positive attitude
* Answer inquiries pertaining to any services offered in the building
* Respond to client phone calls and emails
* Promote amenities and services to customers using professional knowledge and
recommendations
* Welcome and effectively resolve customer questions or concerns with supervisor assistance
as needed
* Provide constant and consistent communication with all departments and
supervisors/managers in order to ensure guest satisfaction
*Basic cleaning duties to provide a clean and fresh environment for pets and staff
* Perform other duties as assigned

Special Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written directions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Passion for pets and dedication to their safety, preventative veterinary care and well being
  • Excellent communication skills, writing skills with the ability to compose posts free of
    grammatical errors. Be creative!
  • Must be a Team player and be comfortable collaborating with multiple departments.
